What You’ll Do
As an Addiction Worker, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting clients as they navigate the challenges of recovery. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clients with daily routines and monitoring client compliance with program.
- Providing crisis intervention and ensuring a safe, supportive environment.
- Maintaining accurate records of client notes, progress, and incident reports.
- Assuring appropriate records are completed in a timely manner.
- Directly observing and recording client activity.
- Assisting with food services delivery, clean up, and light housekeeping.
- Promoting positive neighborhood and community relations.

Schedule: 8 hour shifts
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 Diploma with 1-year post-secondary training or equivalent experience.
- Completion of a relevant formal course of instruction such as a Certificate or Diploma in Addictions or Rehabilitation Practitioner, or a degree in the Social Sciences.
- Knowledge of addiction treatment, recovery processes, and mental health services.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and conflict resolution abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Compassionate, proactive, and resilient in high-stress situations.
Preferred but Not Required
- CPR
- Professional Assault Response Training (PART)
- Mental Health First Aid
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training
- Food Safe Handling Certificate
- WHMIS
